Sweet Leaf Tea Appoints Dan Costello as New CEO
(PRWEB) March 22, 2010 -- Sweet Leaf Tea, one of the nation’s leading makers of natural, organic beverages, announced today that the Board of Directors has unanimously approved the appointment of Dan Costello as the new Chief Executive Officer. Costello, the President of Sweet Leaf tea since 2009, has been responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Company for the past year. Costello replaces founder Clayton Christopher whose dream has always been to see the company take on new heights in the beverage industry.
“It’s an exciting time to be at Sweet Leaf Tea,” said Costello. “Clayton built an incredibly dynamic company with hard-working and dedicated employees and a strong commitment to creating the best tasting, highest-quality teas. We’re able to grow this company and bring more of our natural teas and flavored beverages to more people across the country because of his tremendous effort and vision. I, along with everyone at Sweet Leaf Tea, look forward to helping the company continue its path to becoming a well-known, national brand.”
New packaging, new flavors, and new distribution networks have developed at Sweet Leaf Tea since Costello, formerly a General Manager with Nestlé Waters North America, began managing the company.
Christopher Clayton, who plans to travel and pursue other interests, will remain actively involved with Sweet Leaf Tea as a member of the Board of Directors. “Sweet Leaf Tea has been my life and passion for the past twelve years,” said Christopher. “This company is well-positioned for success and Dan has the vision and experience to help this company expand while still maintaining our original company culture and commitment to high-quality, great-tasting natural bottled beverages.”
